to sell: to exchange something for money, the opposite of "to buy"
To sell is transitive and intransitive.
I am trying to sell my car. I am trying to exchange my car for money.
This product sold well last month. We sold a lot of this product last month.
This is an irregular verb:
I sell / I sold / I have sold
to sell (someone) on (an idea, a concept): to convince (someone) of (an idea, a concept)
That guru is very good. He sold me on the idea of giving him all my money to build a spaceship made of gold.
